Requirements:-

  • At least a Degree in basic engineering & science background. Electronic background will be added advantage.
  • Knowledge and experience in patent drafting and searching will be an added advantage.

  • To assist in conducting patent searches and preparing a report.
  • To attend to enquiries with relation to patent or utility model applications into Malaysia or other countries.
  • To handle patent documents filing and safekeeping.
  • To manage patent daily work and reporting to client(s).
  • To assume and oversee ad-hoc assignments as required.
  • To make routine follow up with patent office for status check.
  • To ensure the documents are processed and handled in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Business studies or any equivalent discipline.
  • Paralegal with 1 year experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated strong docketing ability.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Carrying out trademark searches online as well as drafting search report providing advice to clients on availability and registrability of trademark.
  • Handling technical trade mark formalities at MyIPO & IPOS, including filing trademark applications, all prosecution, renewal and post-registration steps which will require filing out and submitting official forms at relevant IP offices.
  • Drafting objection appeal documents and subsequent prosecution works.
  • Providing administrative support including producing status reports for trademark, electronic filing of correspondence and assisting with data entry and maintaining our in house IP database.
  • Liasing with MyIPO officer to  expedite and follow up trademark status from time to time.
  • Liasing and managing external IP legal counsel in the provision of intellectual property legal services.

Job Description

Requirements:-

You will be working as a functional admin in supporting the job scope as below:

  • Support trademark process through preparation of the related documents for completeness and accuracy.
  • Providing pre-filing search analysis and advice on the registrability of trademarks.
  • Support trademark operation and process improvement (Application until Registration).
  • Track, analyze and report trademark and trademark operation-related matters.
  • Responsible in updating and monitoring the status of applications and liaising with the Malaysia Intellectual Property Office (MyIPO).
  • Assist in supporting any IP dispute matters including objection, opposition, or prosecution.
  • Able to learn drafting submissions and conducting research in support of the client’s matter.
  • Managing the company’s IP system and other automated systems/databases.
  • Working with external counsel in relation to the prosecution matter.
  • Attending to other ad-hoc duties as assigned.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

  • This position is exposed to proprietary company information, so strict adherence to confidentiality policy and protocol is required.
  • Excellent data entry skills and attention to detail to spot errors and inconsistencies.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to collaborate effectively and work in a team.
  • Required language(s)(speak and write): Bahasa Malaysia, English, and Mandarin (optional).
  • Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook and able to use multiple web-based systems.
