Industrial Design Registration

After the Registrar is satisfied with the ID application (i.e. comply with the formal requirements), MyIPO will issue a certificate of Registration. After the ID is registered, the ID owner may take legal actions towards infringers of claimed ID.

The term of a registered design is five years from the date of filing and the registration can be renewed at five-year intervals for a total term of up to 25 years from the filing date. Each renewal fee may be paid at any time prior to the expiry date of the current period of registration. It is also possible to make a late payment, not more than 6 months after the expiry date, subject to a late payment penalty fee

Duration:

Certificate of registration will be issued by MyIPO within 8 – 12 months from the acceptance of completed documents for a smooth case.

Requirement:

Name of applicant, address of applicant, name of author of the design, address of authorised personnel signing the application form, tile of the design and drawings. Please contact us for more details. We are able to file IDs in nearly all countries.
