Trademark Objection

Objection normally occurs when the Registrar is of the view that the Applicant’s trademark is similar to any marks applied and/or not in line with the Trade Marks Act. The Registrar reserves the rights of Objection based on reasonable grounds of which an official letter will be issued to notify the agent. All notification of objection must be attended by way of written submission.

Duration:

All objections must be replied within 2 months from the date of the notice of objection. Upon which the Registrar requires approximately 12 – 18 months to review the written submission.

Requirement:

Evidences of use, promotional articles and global application/registration will be useful in encountering the objection.
